The diamond cut is a vital selection point to be considered when buying a diamond. It does not only pertain to the shape but also the proportion, symmetry, and polish. Check out the most popular diamond cuts.

High-cost: The most popular and most expensive cut is the round brilliant cut. Creating this shape takes more skill to achieve its 58 facets. In this case, you can get the ultimate sparkle you want for your diamond.

Budget-friendly: The affordable cuts without patronizing the sparkle would be marquise, oval, pear, or heart.

You can also opt for cheaper but sophisticated ones like the princess and emerald cuts.

Color

The next thing you have to consider is the color. This would mean the colorlessness of the diamond.

The lack of hue would mean a much more quality grade. The color grade scale starts from being colorless (D) to light yellow or brown (Z).

High-cost : A rare and refined color grade is D but colorless diamonds are ranging from D to F with the highest quality.

Budget-friendly: You can opt for the near-colorless grade that ranges from G-J. Besides, your goal is to avoid faint-colored diamonds.

Clarity

The high-quality clarity of a diamond should be free from inclusions and blemishes. There is a total of 11 clarity grades from Flawless to Included.

High-cost: Flawless is a grade without inclusions and blemishes. Internally Flawless has no inclusions. These two grades are with the most high-value.

Budget-friendly: Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS 1  and VVS 2 ) on the other hand has slight inclusions that are difficult to detect when you are not a high-skilled grader. And so by looking at it, it will still seem perfect.

High-cost: Usually, a 1-carat engagement ring is bought as it is already eye-catching. You can still opt for more carats but expect to pay more, too.

Budget-friendly: A 0.5-carat diamond is a simple and discreet choice. This is acceptable for an engagement ring most especially if the wearer has tiny fingers.
